Langtang Valley Trek
Description
Langtang Valley trekking is best known for its pristine forests, high-elevation meadows of wild sheep, Tibetan-like culture and lovely mountain views. The name "Langtang" comes from the story of the ancient Buddhist lama who followed his lost yak into the valley - "Lang" means "yak" and "Tang" means "follow". Mirroring the diverse culture of Nepal itself, the Gosainkunda Lake area is influenced by the Hindu religion. Legend tells how the lakes of Gosainkunda were formed when the Hindu god Shiva pierced a glacier with his trident. You will have the opportunity to experience both areas of Nepal during your Langtang / Gosainkunda Trekking.
